A groundbreaking partnership has been established between the World Bank and the Moroccan government to fast-track the next phase of growth, focusing on inclusive development priorities. As reported by the institution, Minister of Economy and Finance Nadia Fettah emphasized the initiative's role in creating jobs for young people and women across both urban and rural regions.
«This new partnership framework marks a decisive milestone for Morocco. Its unique strength lies in its cohesive approach, aligning public and private financing, knowledge, and reforms around a shared vision for the Kingdom's future», stated Nadia Fettah.
Indeed, the framework «draws from Morocco's New Development Model, the national roadmap for fostering a more dynamic, equitable, and resilient economy», amid increasing challenges in integrating young people and women into the workforce.
The partnership focuses on three key areas. The first aims to «boost business competitiveness by cutting regulatory barriers, enhancing market competition, and expanding financing access for small and medium-sized enterprises». The second seeks to «create better-connected and more inclusive cities and territories by reducing geographical disparities and improving market and service access in both urban and rural areas».
Finally, the initiative focuses on strengthening human capital «through education reforms, universal health coverage, and expansion of the social protection system». To achieve these goals, the World Bank will leverage «its comprehensive tools, including lending, technical expertise, and mobilization of private capital».
