The trial of the 24 defendants originally convicted in a military court of killing law enforcement officers in the Gdim Izik camp, is taking place in the criminal chamber of the Sale's appeals court this monday morning.

The court has accepted the defense' request to conduct a medical expertise to check on the mental and physical health of the accused. The judges also ask to summon the witnesses involved in the case  and the officers who wrote and witnessed the legal proceedings of the case.

On the other hand, it was announced earlier on the 26 of January that the court decided to postpone the hearing of the defendants, in order to allow the defense to prepare its case.

The trial of the defendants was first convicted on the 17th of February 2013 by the military court of Rabat. The latter handed prison sentences from life imprisonment to 30 years against 24 accused who took the life of 11 and injured 70 law enforcement officers and civilians.
