Benatia quits playing for Morocco

The football Moroccan player, Mehdi Benatia, has announced today through his social media accounts that he will not play for the Moroccan national team in the upcoming international break. Instead, the captain of the Moroccan national team will stay with Juventus.

The centre-back 29 year old player has won 42 caps for his country, but will not accept the recent call he received from Hérve Renard; until he is playing more regularly for the Torino’s city team.

Benatia who played with several European teams, such as, Bayern, Marseille, Udinese and Roma declared on the text he posted on his Facebook and Instagram official pages : «you know the attachment I feel to my country, so it is a great emotion that I have decided to give up the next gathering of the national team until the situation at my club involves».

Benatia’s decision remains a chock to the Moroccan national teams’ followers. The player is considered to be one of the important pillars of the national team.
