LafargeHocim Morocco has just inaugurated the Smart Construction Lab, the first innovation center that is implanted in Casablanca on a 4,000 m2 area. The Smart Construction Lab will gather several units that will offer different services such as laboratories, testing and evaluating prototypes, a 70-seat auditorium, training rooms, interior as well as exterior showrooms to show the latest innovative products produced by LafargeHolcim Morocco and partners.

A multidisciplinary team of 50 engineers, architects and construction technicians led by LafargeHolcim marketing team will work to develop the future products, solutions and construction systems. These products will be dedicated to the entire construction sector, including buildings and roads.

The company has already established partnerships with several institutions in regard of the Smart Construction Lab such as the National School of Architecture, the Hassania School of Public Works, the Euromed University of Fez, the Public Laboratory for Studies and Experiments (LPEE) and the CERIB (France). Additionally, the Smart Construction Lab has equally launched an incubator with two startups that work on the use of recycled materials for construction to start testing prototypes.

The Smart Construction Lab received an HQE™ certification during an inauguration ceremony held by Cerway, an operator of the certificate. HQE is a standard for green building that is based on the principles of sustainable development.
