France former president Nicholas Sarkozy and wife Carla Bruni visited Wednesday 5th April, the «Africa in Capital» exhibition hosted currently by Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and contemporary art in Rabat, as pointed by Jeune Afrique.
«As simple as this, he was on a private trip to Morocco and he heard of our exposition Africa in the Capital», Mehdi Qotbi head of the museum has told the magazine. The latter mentioned an anecdote that marked Sarkozy’s visit : «at the end of his visit, Nicholas Sarkozy wrote on the museum’s guestbook : "I love Morocco of yesterday and Tomorrow"».

The couple profited from their visit to admire artworks of African painters and artists that take part of the exhibition inaugurated Thursday 23rd March by King Mohammed VI and King Abdullah of Jordan. After visiting the Museum of Modern and contemporary art, Sarkozy and wife went to the Museum of History and civilizations which will be open in the 12th of April.
Fascinated by the Moroccan kingdom, Jeune Afrique reports that Nicholas Sarkozy travels to Morocco frequently especially Marrakech where he spends every New Years Eve holidays. Back in 2015, Sakozy paid Morocco an official visit as president and was received by King Mohammed VI.
