A girl’s body found dead in Taroudant

Local authorities of Taroudant province announced on Wednesday the discovery of a girl’s corpse. The lifeless 5 year-old's body was found in a field located in Douar Jdid in Ahmar Laglalcha region, she had signs of violence in her head.

Members of the royal gendarmerie of Taroudant on Thursday identified and arrested the suspect who is 19. The young man admitted that he beat the girl’s head with a rock to death.

The suspect was placed under custody for investigation purposes conducted by the public prosecutor’s office. Local authorities claimed that preliminary data suggests that the victim was not sexually assaulted.

The victim did not return home on Wednesday afternoon after school, her body was found later next to her parents' house.
