Away from political speeches and electoral campaigns, Zakaria Chaoui a.k.a Maestro Ziikos made Barack Obama, Bernie Sanders and Donald Trump sing the girliest songs in the world. Some of you have already watched his videos on the internet and laughed at the fact that these serious figures can sing «I am a Barbie Girl» so well. The 25 year-old man combined his sense of humour and auto-tune techniques to bring to the internet and his audience an unexpected and unique product.
Producing videos since 2008, Zakaria was inspired by all the other talented Youtubers out there, he loved music and was fond of the autotune technology. «I used to watch videos on Youtube of autotune musicians and DJs, I liked what they were doing, but I didn't know how to do it», Zakaria told Yabiladi. After a lot of research, the young man was able to make his own videos learning from other gifted youths.
I am not into politics but music is my cup of tea
Zakaria now collects words uttered by a celebrity, puts them together and make them sound like that person is singing. As weird, and hilarious as it sounds, Zakaria was really good at that. «I published my first video and people suprinsingly liked it, so I decided to create my YouTube Channel that I named Remix 36», Zakaria stated. Born and raised in Rabat and later Sala El Jadida, Maestro Ziikos was able to attract a large audience by his music. «I was astounded over the fact that my fans asked me for more and wanted me to produce similar stuff», he declared.
When asked about the message laying behind his music, Zakaria said that it is all about challenging oneself. «I am not into politics, but music is my cup of tea and my goal is to show the world and people my age that nothing is impossible», Zakaria argued. «It is not about where you live or what language you speak, it is about passion, determination and hard work», the young man concluded.
