It is done, the Moroccan mountain climber, Bouchra Baibanou, has finally reached the top of the world aka Everest mountain located at the border separating China and Nepal. The 47-year-old sportswoman ascended 8,850 meters above sea level (29,035 feet) becoming thus the first Moroccan and North African woman to achieve this great challenge.

Initiated in the beginning of April, this expedition is part of a series of six others that had already been carried in Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (5,895 meters / 19,341 ft), Mont-Blanc, the highest peak in Western Europe (4,808 meters / 15,784 ft) twice and Mont-Elbrus (5,642 meters/ 18,510 ft), the highest point in Europe situated in Northern Caucasius in June 2012.
On the 18th of May 2013, a Saudi female mountain climber named Raha Mouharraq, managed to reach at the age of 25 the top of the world.
