The Confederation of African Football (CAF) symposium on women's football, aiming to create a new path for the development of women's football in Africa, opened Monday in Marrakech with the participation of the presidents of several African federations.
This symposium, co-organized by CAF and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) is set to boost women's football in Africa.
For two days, the participants will discuss a number of very specific topics relating to women's football in the continent. According to the BBC sports, Caf believes that the two-day event and which is held under the theme «raising our game» is meant to strengthen the sport in Africa.
CAF president Ahmed Ahmed and Fatma Samoura, FIFA general secretary are also attending the women’s symposium which is split into seven working groups.
According to the same source, these groups are to discuss problems related to «sponsorship in women's football, competitions, governance, the media and the expansion of the women's game».
