A march was organized Sunday, 20th of May, in Casablanca to express solidarity with the Palestinian people and to condemn the crimes committed by the Israeli occupation forces in Gaza, reports MAP news agency.

Unlike the rally that took place last Sunday in Rabat, today's march in Casablanca has managed to attract thousands of participants who came at the initiative of several political parties and national organizations such as Al Adl Wal Ihssan.

Participants have denounced the transfer of the U.S. Embassy to Al-Quds, a decision that triggered indignation and widespread protests in the occupied territories. They have also called for the protection of the Al-Aqsa Mosque against the actions of the Israeli army and have underlined the need to support the struggle of the Palestinian people.

Speaking to Yabiladi, some of them have also called on the international community to undertake initiatives and actions to stop Israeli crimes and enable the Palestinian people to enjoy their legitimate rights, says the same source.

Morocco strongly condemned on Wednesday the shooting by the Israeli army at participants in peaceful protests along the border with the Gaza strip.

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita said, in a press briefing, that Morocco strongly condemns the excessive use of force against unarmed Palestinian civilians, reaffirms its total rejection of this dangerous behavior that goes against international law and calls for peace and ending these unacceptable escalation practices that are worsening the situation.

For the record, U.S. President Donald Trump announced in December, 2017 that he intends to relocate the American embassy in Tel Aviv. The decision has been rejected by several countries, including Morocco, and created tension pushing several parties to march for the protection of the Palestinian people and the holy city.

On May the 14th, the inauguration of the American embassy in Jerusalem has killed dozens of Palestinian protesters who took the streets to denounce the decision and commemorate the Nakba, the great exodus which occurred after the Israeli occupation 70 years ago.
