Intergovernmental Conference : The «Marrakech Pact on Migration» adopted

The Intergovernmental Conference, held currently in Marrakech, adopted the Global Compact for Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration, known now as the «Marrakech Pact on Migration».

Member states of the United Nations unanimously adopted the final draft of the Pact. Agreed upon by UN Member States in July, 2018, the compact is the first inter-governmentally negotiated agreement to cover all dimensions of international migration.

The Conference «recommends that the General Assembly at its seventy-third session endorses the Global Compact on Safe, Orderly and Regular Migration as adopted».
