After they were greeted Saturday evening in Casablanca by Prince Moulay Hassan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex arrived Sunday in Morocco's Atlas Mountains where they met rural girls from the region, reports Reuters.

The British royal couple met girls at a boarding house in Asni, a small town near Marrakech, run by NGO Education for All.

Greeted by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, girls «from the boarding house waved the flags of Morocco and Britain», the same source wrote.

«Their Royal Highnesses will see work being done to promote girl’s education, empower young people and support children from disadvantaged backgrounds», Kensington Palace said.

In Asni, Princess Meghan attended a henna ceremony and will meet alongside her husband local students and teachers, before attending a football match.

«The visit is a good news for the people of the area after such a tragic and isolated incident,» founder of Education for All Mike McHugo told the same source, referring to the terror attack that took the lives of two Scandinavian tourists in the neighboring town, Imlil.

For the record, the Duke and Duchess will be attending this evening a reception hosted by the British ambassador Thomas Reilly.

On Monday, they will meet children with special needs, attend a cooking demonstration and a traditional Moroccan arts and crafts display as well as a horse-grooming session at an equestrian facility, before flying back to London.

This will be the couple’s first visit to Morocco, after Harry’s father Prince Charles' trip to the Kingdom with his wife Camilla in 2011.

The royal couple were invited at the time by King Mohammed VI. During their stay in the Kingdom, Prince Charles visited Morocco’s National Library while the Duchess of Cornwall attended a fashion show.
