To the great displeasure of anti-normalization activists, ten Israeli judokas participated, during the weekend, to the Judo Grand Prix, held in Marrakech on the 9th and 10th of March.

Although the Israeli anthem was not played during the competition, the Jewish state’s flag was hoisted in Marrakech.

The Israeli government’s spokesperson Ofir Gendelman celebrated on his Twitter account the fact that the Israeli flag was hoisted twice in Marrakech, after two Israeli judokas won two bronze medals in the competition.

For the record, all countries that refuse the participation of Israeli sportsmen could be sanctioned.

In January, the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) withdrew the hosting rights of the 2019 Paralympic World Swimming Championships from Malaysia after it refused to host Israeli athletes.

A few months earlier, the International Judo Federation suspended the Grand Prix of Tunis and Abu Dhabi for «discriminating» against Israeli athletes.
