After students at the Catholic school of Melle, in Belgium, dressed as Muslims wearing «explosive belts», the Muslim Executive of Belgium reacted to the «controversial» celebration, complaining to the Inter-federal Anti-Discrimination Institution (UNIA), reports Belgian newspaper La Derniere Heure.
The executive, which represents the Muslim community in Belgium sought the head of the Catholic Education Flanders, says the same source, stressing that «these actions mix between Muslims and terrorists and does not promote values of co-existence».
Although the school in question said that «the celebration was not meant to hurt Muslims», the executive believes that «it was a provocative and offensive action».
Celebrating the 100th day of the school year, students at the Catholic school of Melle, in Belgium, decided to dress up as Muslims.The celebration, however, was dubbed «controversial», after a video, made public online, showed students imitating Muslims, performing prayer.
But some of them were «wearing explosive belts», referring to terrorism.
