The UN personal envoy for Western Sahara Horst Köhler has, officially, invited Morocco, Algeria, Mauritania and the Polisario Front to attend the second round-table on the territorial conflict on March the 21st and 22nd, reports AFP, quoting the United Nations.

The meeting, which is supposed to be attended by Foreign Affairs Ministers from Morocco, Algeria and Mauritania, as well as the Polisario’s representatives, will be held in a place near Geneva that was not revealed to media, the same source added.

The second round-table will be held behind closed doors, indicates AFP, citing diplomatic sources. This meeting is meant to «deepen» the discussions, launched in the first round-table held in December, 2018.

Before arranging a meeting between the four parties, Köhler held a series of consultations, preparing for the Geneva meeting.

Indeed, a Polisario delegation met Germany’s former President in Berlin on the 4th and 5th of March. Reports suggested that a Morocco delegation held talks with Köhler, February, in Paris.

For the record, the United Nations Security Council revealed, March the 1st, the Provisional Program of Work for April 2019. During this month, members of the Security Council will hold four sessions on the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (MINURSO), which will have its six-month mandate extended.
