Italian supplier of equipment and physical plants to the metal industry Danieli will build a steel plant for Moroccan steel company Riva Industries, said the Italian firm in a communiqué published last week.

The new plant will be located in Jorf Lasfar, a deepwater commercial port on the Atlantic coast near El Jadida, and will produce annually 800,000 tons of steel billets (130 x 130 to 200 x 200 mm).

The plant is expected to start production by 2020. The new facility will include an automatic electric arc furnace and a multi-strand continuous casting machine, concludes the same statement.
