The Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh announced, on Friday night, that it is supporting the Muslim community following the terrorist attacks that killed 49 Muslim worshipers at two mosques in New Zealand.

To return the favor once granted by the Muslim community during the Tree of Life synagogue attack, the Jewish organization is engaged in helping Muslims in New Zealand to overcome the atrocity of the terror acts committed against them, CNN says.

In a statement made public on Friday, the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh said «it is accepting donations».

«Unfortunately, we are all too familiar with the devastating effect a mass shooting has on a faith community», said chair of the board of the Jewish Federation of Greater Pittsburgh Meryl Ainsman.

«We are filled with grief over this senseless act of hate. May those who were injured heal quickly and fully, and may the memories of the victims forever be a blessing», Ainsman added.

Last October, Muslim groups raised more than $200,000 for the victims of the Tree of Life synagogue attack. For the record, 11 people were killed in the attack which was considered the deadliest against Jews in the US ever.
