A Casablanca court is expected to pronounce its verdict against Hirak detainees, including Nasser Zefzafi, on April the 5th. On Tuesday, March the 26th, the Casablanca Appeals court announced that it would wait a few days before pronouncing its ruling.

Shortly before the start of the hearing, Zefzafi's father published a letter from the detainees on the Tafra association's Facebook page. They reiterate their commitment «to peace and dialogue with the parties who have the power to decide».

In their letter, Hirak detainees called the state to «listen to the demands of the people» and «give real answers to people’s historical, social, cultural, economic, and political issues». They also urged the government to «break up with its political doublespeak».

On June the 26th, 2018, Nasser Zefzafi, leader of the Hirak movement, was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Other Hirak activists, including Nabil Ahamjik, Ouassim Boustati and Samir Ighid received the same sentence. Adehchour, Mohamed Haki and Mohamed Bouhennouch were sentenced to 15 years in prison while Mohamed Jelloul and Rachid Aamarouch among others will serve ten years in prison.
