The 5th edition US-Morocco Business Forum opened, Thursday, in Miami, Florida, MAP press agency reports. The event is attended by government officials, business leaders, experts and diplomats.

During this annual meeting, attendees will be discussing the recent developments of trade between the United States, the Kingdom of Morocco and other African countries, in addition to studying ways to further strengthen business opportunities. The event is part of a series of similar forums organized in the recent years in the United States.

Keynote speeches were delivered by Morocco’s ambassador to the United States, Lalla Joumala Alaoui, Miami Dade College President Eduardo Padron and Miami Dade County Commissioner Jose Diaz.

Secretary of State to the Minister of Industry, Investment, Trade and the Digital Economy, in charge of Investment Othman El Ferdaous, then gave a detailed presentation on the Kingdom's economic opportunities, as well as its competitive advantages as a hub for trade and investment within the continent.

After four successful forums in Dallas, Atlanta, Seattle and Washington, this year's edition is being held in Miami to highlight Florida and Morocco as transatlantic connectivity points linking Africa and the Americas, say organizers.
