The general Delegation for prison administration and reintegration (DGAPR) has decided to transfer the detainees involved in the Al Hoceima events to prisons in the northern part of Morocco.

A statement by the DGAPR says that following the confirmation on appeal of the judgments against the detainees involved in the Al Hoceima events and in order to bring them closer to their families, the Delegation has decided to transfer these inmates to prisons located in the north of the Kingdom.

Earlier this week, Hirak detainees Nasser Zefzafi and Mohamed El Haki who had their sentences upheld by the Appeals court on Friday, sewed their lips to protest against their situation behind the bars.

For the record, sentences ranging from 20 years to one year in prison were handed down on June the 26th, 2018, by the same court to Hirak detainees, including Nasser Zefzafi.
