Once again, Moroccan authorities have expelled two Spanish nationals from Laayoune. Mako Florentino and Dina Bardo were arrested last night in the home of a Polisario sympathizer and were then taken to a police station.

Once questioned, they spent the night in a hotel after being told to leave the country. On Friday, according to local sources, the two activists must take a flight to the Canary Islands.

This expulsion comes as the UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres denounced that recalled in his draft report that «access to Western Sahara remained limited for some people», making mention of «15 persons (who) were expelled from or denied access to the territory of Western Sahara by the Moroccan authorities during the period under review, including human rights defenders, researchers, lawyers and representatives of international non-governmental organizations».
