King Mohammed VI is expected to visit Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, April 23rd, in a royal tour. According to Le360, which quotes well-informed sources, the sovereign may be visiting Saudi Arabia and Jordan this week.

The same source indicate that the King may be flying to Jordan on April the 26th. «The two countries are preparing to receive the King of Morocco for talks related to the latest developments on the Arab political scene, including the Libyan crisis and the Arab-Israeli conflict. Diplomatic ties with the Gulf countries (…) will be at the heart of this royal tour», the same source revealed.

This move comes after the Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister, Nasser Bourita, visited Gulf countries carrying royal messages. Two weeks ago, Bourita visited Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar and the Sultanate of Oman. The Moroccan Minister's  did not include the United Arab Emirates.

For the record, the last time King Mohammed VI visited Abu Dhabi was in the summer of 2018, when the sovereign held talks with Crown Prince Mohamed Ben Zayed.

Diplomatic relations between Morocco on the one hand, and Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates on the other hand, were marked this year by an unprecedented diplomatic crisis.
