The Imlil terror attack trial is expected to open on May 2, AFP wrote on Tuesday, quoting a defense lawyer.
Twenty-four suspects, including the four Moroccan nationals who appeared in a video that was published on social media days after the murders, will stand trial in Sale, defense lawyer Saad Sahli told the French news agency.
The suspected jihadists are accused of «promoting terrorism, forming a terrorist cell or causing premeditated harm to persons», the same source said, adding that a Spanish-Swiss national will also face trial for spreading «extremist ideology» and for providing help for the four main suspects.
For the record, the bodies of Maren Ueland (28) and Louisa Vesterager Jespersen (24) were found 10 kilometers away from Imlil by French mountaineers, in December 2018.
They had arrived in Morocco to prepare for a mountaineering tournament and climb Mount Toubkal.
