Angry Sahrawis, in the Tindouf camps, have been protesting for weeks against the restrictions imposed on the movement by Algeria. On Saturday, Sahrawi protesters blocked for several hours access to a road that leads to the Rabouni camp.
The Polisario leadership used force to disperse the protest, deploying tanks and military vehicles, pro-Polisario news platform Futuro Sahara reported.
Urgente : Fuerte represión en estos momentos en Rabuni contra los manifestantes que reinvindican libertad de expresión y de movimiento. Se habla de varios heridos de diversa gravedad.

Since the beginning of Hirak protests in Algeria, the Algerian authorities ordered the Front’s «Interior Ministry» to reduce the number of cars and trucks leaving the camps.
This decision had a negative impact on the living conditions of Sahrawis in the Tindouf camps. Indeed, the prices of goods and fuel sky-rocketed as a result.
