The Polisario conveys its disappointment to the UNSG Assistant for Peace Operations

The Polisario’s permanent representative to the United Nations Sidi Mohamed Omar was received, Tuesday, by the United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Peacekeeping Operations Jean-Pierre Lacroix.

According to several pro-Polisario news outlets, Omar conveyed «to the UN head, the Front’s position on several issues related to MINURSO and the UN peace process in Western Sahara».

During this meeting, the «Front’s diplomat» recalled that after the UN Security Council adopted resolution 2468 on Western Sahara, the Polisario issued a statement in which it «took note of the affirmation by the Security Council of its commitment to move forward with the United Nations peace process in Western Sahara despite strong opposition to who seek to maintain the status quo», the same source concluded.
