The capital of Bahrain will host, on June 25 and 26, an international conference on the economic part of the US peace plan, known as the «Deal of Century», the White House announced on Sunday.
Senior officials from the European Union, the Middle East and Asia, as well as Palestinian investors will be attending the «Peace to Prosperity» economic forum in Manama, the Jerusalem Post reported.
United States Secretary of the Treasury Steven Mnuchin announced that he is attending the conference in Manama, saying in a statement that he is «looking forward to participating in the discussion».
«This workshop will engage leaders from across the entire Middle East to promote economic growth and opportunity for the people in this important region», Mnuchin said.
Will Morocco be invited to the conference ? Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh told reporters that «Palestinians were not consulted about the conference».
For the record, the Kingdom has been excluded from negotiations on the «Deal of Century». US President Advisor Jared Kushner was expected to visit Morocco, as reported in February, but this trip did not take place.
