Far-right Finnish politician Marco De Wit ripped up, Sunday, a copy of the Quran, Turkish press agency Anadolu reports.

The leader of nationalistic political party Finnish People First tore a copy of the Quran into pieces in Helsinki in front of police officers, a member of the World Turkish Business Council’s European Committee told the Turkish agency.

«I told the police officers that he was committing a hate crime and they should stop him. The officers did nothing», the businessman told Anadolu, adding that Finnish politician insulted Prophet Mohammed. This is not the first time that De Wit rips up the Quran, the agency added.

In April, Stram Kurs leader Rasmus Paludan burned the Quran in an area that houses the Muslim community in the country.

Stram Kurs, known also as Hard Line, was founded in 2007 and is headed by Danish Paludan, who is known for demanding the deportation of all Muslims.
