French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian is expected to visit Morocco on Saturday, June 8, Alyaoum 24 and Le360 reported.

The two online newspapers say that Le Drian will be received this weekend in the Kingdom by his Moroccan counterpart Nasser Bourita.

«The meeting was originally scheduled for April, but Nasser Bourita had to visit Gulf countries to deliver a royal message to the leaders of these countries», well-informed sources told Le360.

«The two ministers will not be discussing the latest developments of the Sahara issue, including the personal envoy Horst Kohler’s resignation and relations with the European Union», the same source said.

Meanwhile, Alyaoum 24 said that Le Drian will be visiting the Euro-Mediterranean University of Fez on Monday to take part in a meeting and will meet with the French diaspora living in the Kingdom.

The two foreign ministers met in October 31, in Paris, after a delay of several weeks. Indeed, Jean-Yves Le Drian's visit to Morocco was initially scheduled for September 10th before it was postponed, at the request of the Moroccan party.
