French-Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze to take a break from his career

French-Moroccan comedian Jamel Debbouze announced Tuesday, June 18, that he will take a break from his career for a couple of years, reports Le Figaro, quoting French radio station RTL. This decision would allow the actor to take a step back and rest, the same source said.

«I have given a lot and today I just want to take (…) So I can continue enjoying what I do, I need to take care of myself», Debbouze told the same radio.

The actor will stay away from the spotlight starting from December 2019, time for him to finish the tour of his last show «Maintenant ou Jamel».

«I'll stop in December and I know I will not be back on stage for years, that's for sure», he said. He also revealed that he wishes to spend more time with his family. «Mélissa (Theuriau, his wife, ed) is very strong (...) she works and takes care of everything. She does all the work, the poor, she is the one who has all the mental load», he told Femina magazine.
