A Moroccan national arrested in Germany for insulting and spitting at two Jews

A Moroccan national was arrested in the city of Hamburg in Germany for threatening, insulting and spitting at two Jews, American press agency Associated Press (AP) reports.

German police said the 45-year-old man insulted, Thursday, two Jewish men who were attending a meeting at the city’s hall.

The two men called the police, which intervened and arrested the man. When he was confronted by a police officer, the Moroccan national tried to run. He then stopped and spat at the two Jews. AP reported that the arrestee spoke Arabic and German.

The victims are a rabbi and a well-known member of the Jewish community. The Moroccan national was released and an investigation has been opened.
