Moroccan MPs adopt the EU’s fisheries agreement and the AU’s AfCFTA

The House of Representatives held, Monday afternoon, a plenary session dedicated to the adoption of two international agreements. MPs gave their go-ahead to the Morocco-European Union fisheries agreement, which was adopted on June 19 by the Foreign Affairs, National Defense and Moroccans Living abroad Committee.

On the same day, MPs passed a bill on joining the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), signed during an extraordinary summit of the African Union in March 2018 in Kigali. The same bill was adopted by the government on February the 21 and by the Council of Ministers on June 4.

On 7 and 8 of July, Niger will host an extraordinary AU summit dedicated exclusively to the the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA).
