Ahead of the Atlas Lions’ Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) game against Cote d’Ivoire, scheduled for Friday in Egypt, Morocco’s coach Hervé Renard said that he is ready to beat the West African team again.
The 50-year-old manager, who used to coach the Ivory coast football team and helped it win an Afcon title, told AFP that it is going «to be a special game for [him]».
While the Moroccan team defeated Namibia through an own-goal, South Africa lost to Cote d’Ivoire’s Elephants. «They were well organized», Renard said, hailing Namibia.
For the record, the Atlas Lions will play against Ivory Coast, Friday, in the Al Salam stadium in Cairo.
