Based on the findings of a survey conducted by the Arab Barometer for BBC Arabic News, the British broadcaster wrote that Morocco could follow in the footsteps of neighboring countries that hosted violent uprisings.
BBC news revealed that respondents from Morocco touched upon issues that might make the country witness what happened in «Algeria and Sudan».
BBC indicates that almost half of Moroccan respondents said that the country is in the need of political change. Morocco tops the list that includes Tunisia, Libya, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine and Iraq, with 49% of respondents who support rapid political change.
In addition to these results, almost 70% of Morocco respondents under 30 say that they want to emigrate. «While half of over 60-year-olds have a positive view of the government, the figure for those aged 18-29 is 18%», the same source added.
The answers compiled by the research group reveal that more than a quarter of respondents had been involved in a peaceful protest in the Kingdom.
All these numbers are signs that shouldn’t be neglected, according to the BBC, which reached the Moroccan government for a comment but without receiving an answer.
