Although they won the game against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, held Monday in Cairo, French coach Hervé Renard said that he is dissatisfied with the Atlas Lions’ performance.

During a press conference, Renard said that the Atlas Lions played for 45 minutes only. «I think we played better during the second half. It means that we played for 45 minutes only today», he argued.

«I think you are being very tough on the South African team, to me they had very good principles. Of course, as the coach said, the team was in tricky situation where it had to attack but in a measured way», Hervé Renard said.

To the French coach, the Bafana Bafana deserved more than the three points they got.

Speaking to beIN Sports, minutes after the end of the game, Hervé Renard said that the only thing he regrets about the match is the fact that the Lions «started playing only during the second half».

For the record, Morocco made it to the second round of the Africa Cup of Nations, winning 9 points and heading Group D that includes, South Africa, Namibia and Cote d’Ivoire.
