Seven Moroccan nationals were killed, eight injured and three others are missing in a deadly raid that hit a migrant center in Tajoura, near Tripoli, the Moroccan consulate in Tunis said on Saturday.

The Libyan authorities in Tripoli and the Libyan diplomatic mission in Rabat confirmed in a statement, quoted by MAP, that these nationals are among the 18 Moroccans that were staying at a Libyan detention center that was targeted by a raid on Thursday.

The same source reported that it contacted the seven Moroccan nationals wounded in the raid and that the process of identifying the victims is underway.

The consulate also said that it is teaming up with the Libyan authorities and international organizations in Libya to repatriate the victims and help the wounded nationals.

The families of the victims are urged to reach out to the two cells set up by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (00212613500678) and the Consulate of the Kingdom in Tunis (0021698765801).
