High-ranking investors and politicians from South Africa, Kenya, Lesotho and Nigeria are expected to visit Morocco on July 15th and 16th.
The program, initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, includes a series of visits that will target major economic projects in the Kingdom, including Tangier Med prt and the Noor solar plant in Ouerzazate.
The African delegation consists of former Nigerian president Olusegun Obasanjo, who is a very influential political figure in Nigeria and the head of the Johannesburg-based think-tank Brenthurst Foundation.
The delegation includes Mcebisi Jonas, a former Deputy Finance Minister of the Government of South Africa who served from 2014 to 2016. He is also the special envoy of President Cyril Ramaphosa. Jonas’ visit to Morocco is the first of its kind.
The African delegation visiting Morocco also includes Lesotho's Minister of Finance, Moeketsi Majoro.
