In the midst of rumors about kidnapping and sequestration of children, lawyer Eric Dupond-Moretti relays the wrath of King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Salma, stressing that those were false and «serious» assertions against Crown Prince Moulay Hassan and his sister Lalla Khadija.

Released Saturday exclusively by Gala, this denial defended by the lawyer indicates that these rumors were «firmly and formally rejected» by the Sovereign and the Princess. The Crown Prince's parents are indeed «scandalized» by these «extremely serious» allegations, which are both refuting it.

According to Eric Dupond-Moretti, these rumors are from foreign sites spreading false information for «malicious purposes», which is «liable to prosecution for defamation».

This statement comes in a particular context, especially after reports about another princess fleeing abroad. The lawyer castigates the comparison that «rests on nothing but the fact that it is about two princesses», while arguing «the need of restoring truth once and for all».

On the other hand, Gala magazine seems to confirm the separation of the royal couple. In March 2018, the magazine ¡Hola! had revealed «the divorce of King Mohammed VI and Princess Lalla Salma», and maintained its position until last February when it doubled down on it, based on sources «close to the Royal Palace».

According to the media, the princess «will remain outside of the public sphere, but (...) [would remain] always very present in the life of her children». She «still lives in Morocco, which does not prevent her from spending some time outside the country».
