A Moroccan national was praised by a Greek lifeguard saving the lives of three tourists who were about to drown in Italian beach. Gabriele Greco, who was interviewed by Italian newspaper La Voce, said that he had to acknowledge the efforts of the Moroccan man who helped the crowd save the three tourists, Sunday, in San Pietro beach in Bevagna, a town and commune in the central part of the Italian province of Perugia.

The Moroccan peddler offered help to the lifeguard and others who were trying to get the three people out of water, after they were struggling to get to the shore. According to him, the man was even about to succumb while trying to help.

Greco said that he had to mention the heroic deeds of this man after he read several articles online that gave credit to others and ignored the help provided by the Moroccan. «I felt that I had to explain what happened because I think it is important to thank the right people», he added.

«First of all, we must thank the people who stretched the rope, the Moroccan who made himself available by leaving everything behind to come and throw a second rope and the people who plunged first and who were not members of the police», he concluded.
