A Moroccan inmate escapes a Frankfurt prison

A Moroccan prisoner is still on the run after he managed to escape a Frankfurt prison on Thursday, German daily newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) reports.

The 39-year-old man climbed a 5.50-meter fence and made his way out of the prison, the same source said.

Police have warned motorists against hitchhikers in the area, in case the Moroccan asks to be driven away from the area. During the search, a helicopter was mobilized to fly over the area.

According to information from the Ministry of Justice, the prisoner is at the end of his sentence. He was arrested for petty theft.
