On Saturday, a shooting took place between the cities of Midland and Odessa in the west of Texas (USA). Local authorities mention several dead, seven being confirmed at the moment, in addition to around twenty wounded victims.
As for one of the shooters, described as a white man in his thirties, he was shot after a shootout with the police in a movie theater parking lot, according to the American media CNN.
The Belga news agency reports that police sources differ on the number of attackers. The Odessa police mention only one, but Midland's police forces speak of two shooters who would have opened fire separately from two cars.
As for Texas Governor Greg Abbott, he spoke of «senseless and cowardly attack», saying his state was not going to be «overrun by hatred and violence». «We will unite, as Texans always do, to respond to this tragedy», he reassured. The governor is also expected in Odessa this Sunday. The University of Texas Permian Basin has been locked as well as the hospital where the wounded are being treated.
