A «special envoy» sent by Venezuela’s self-proclaimed interim president Juan Guaido to Morocco has been attending several meetings with diplomats accredited by Rabat.

Yesterday, José Ignacio Guédez met with the representative of the Central African Republic who is also the dean of the African Diplomatic Corps.

«This is an important step in achieving the goal of increasing the recognition of the constitutional government of President Juan Guaido in Africa and consolidating relations with an important region», Guédez wrote on his Instagram account page.

For its part, Spanish-language newspaper El Nacional states that the representative of the Venezuelan mission met on Tuesday, September 10, with the ambassador of Chile, Alex Geiger Soffi, also dean of the Diplomatic Corps of the Americas.

The same source reports that the diplomat appointed last March, met, in August, the ambassadors of Colombia, Guatemala, Brazil, Canada and Spain.

José Ignacio Guédez has also already met with Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita.
