Morocco's Younès Belhanda walks out of a game with a fractured jaw

Galatasaray Moroccan midfielder Younès Belhanda broke his jaw when playing against Kasımpaşa (1-0) on Friday night. According to a report Saturday by L'Equipe, the Atlas Lion was hit in a duel with Veysel Sari, from the opposing team, in the final moments of Galatasaray's victory against Kasımpaşa.

The Istanbul-based club announced in a statement that doctors have diagnosed «two fractures» in the jaw of the Moroccan athlete.

«Our player underwent a successful surgery in the early hours of the morning at the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Clinic under the leadership of Associate Professor Dr. Zeynep Sevim», said the Turkish club yesterday.

The statement does not mention however the recovery duration needed for the Moroccan international.
