The United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs is expected to hold hearings on the nomination of ambassadors proposed by President Donald Trump. The upcoming hearing will feature Carmen G. Cantor, Michael George De Sombre and Sung Y. Kim, respectively named as ambassadors in Micronesian, Thailand and Indonesia.
Surprisingly, the American president recently nominated the three senior officials. Their nomination was announced by the White House in a statement that dates back to July 15, 2019. American businessman David T. Fischer, nominated by Trump in November 2017 as an ambassador to Morocco.
Since then, the candidate has been waiting for his nomination to get confirmed by the United States Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, a committee charged with leading foreign-policy legislation and debate in the Senate.
