The Swiss man sentenced to ten years in prison over terror-related charges and links with the murder of the two Scandinavian tourists in Imlil in December 2018 had his sentence reduced to five years, his Lawyer said on Monday.
According to MENAFN, the 33-year-old man was arrested in January and was accused of «participation in a terrorist act, supporting terrorism, and withholding information relating to a crime».
The reduction of his sentence was announced, last week, by the appeal chamber of the antiterrorism tribunal, his lawyer Khalil Idrissi told AFP.
«This is an unfair conviction that is not based on any proven facts», Idrissi the French news agency. The Swiss was arrested «for receiving an e-mail from a dual Swiss-Spanish citizen», who was also convicted in the same case. The latter was sentenced to 20 years.
