Spain’s Civil Guard arrested seven migrants from the Maghreb who were trying to hide in a ferry that docked at the port of Ceuta, Spanish news agency EFE reported on Sunday.
According to police sources, one of these migrants was found next to one of the ship’s engines. Police intervened when the crew of the ferry «Jaume III», owned by Spanish shipping company Baleària Eurolíneas Marítimas, noticed that there was someone hiding near the ferry’s engines.
The Civil Guard arrested the first migrant, before realizing that there were six others next to the ship, trying to hide in it.
The ferry was heading to the port of Algesiras, Cadiz. «The seven migrants were sent to a police station to determine whether they are Moroccan of Algerian», the same source concluded.
