Florida’s theme park at the Walt Disney World Resort has added new interactive experiences to the Morocco pavilion, wrote local newspaper Orlando Business Journal Friday.
Disney has made sure to feature two of the country’s modern-day competitions to the Morocco pavilion’s Gallery of Arts and History attraction. According to the theme park giant, the Morocco section includes now a glimpse of the «Marathon des Sables» and the «Rally Aicha des Gazelles», two local races held in the Kingdom.
According to the Disney blog, the exhibit includes a «lifelike diorama of Marathon of the Sands with race gear and trophies from Morocco competitors and an interactive photo opportunity highlighting Rally of the Gazelles, the off-road all-woman desert rally».
To Disney, the new elements will allow visitors to discover the intense competitions and how the Sahara’s original inhabitants «mastered the challenges of living in the formidable environment».
Visitors will also be able to experience how it feels to be a participant in the two rallies, eating «sellou, a food that participants eat during the race».
For the record, the Morocco Disney pavilion is part of the World Showcase within Epcot at Walt Disney World in Orlando. It was opened in September 1984.
