La Mamounia hotel, a former 12th century royal estate in Marrakech, is expected to close its doors for three months in 2020 to undergo renovation work, Spanish newspaper El Pais reports.
The works will be conducted by a Paris agency called Jouin Manku and the hotel team and will target the culinary spaces of the building.
The two teams will also be upgrading and renovating the hotel’s accommodation spaces. The works are expected to «challenge La Mamounia and preserve the charm and heritage of the 95-year-old mansion», said the hotel’s general manager Pierre Jochem.
For the record, La Mamounia has 136 rooms, 71 suites, including seven-star ones, three riads with lounges and private pools, five bars, and four restaurants.
