On 22 abd 23 November, the capital of the Basque Autonomous Community in northern Spain, Vitoria, hosted the 44th European Conference of Support and Solidarity with the Sahrawi People (EUCOCO), without Aminatou Haidar.

The president of the Collective of Sahrawi Human Rights Defenders (CODESA) attended the previous editions of the conference.

While Haidar chose not to attend the conference, «other Sahrawi activists flew to Vitoria to be part of the meeting, including Brahim Dahan and Djimy El Ghalia from the Sahrawi Association of Victims of Grave Human Rights Violations (ASVDH) and Ali Salem Tamek from CODESA», a source close to the file told Yabiladi.

For the record, in September Aminatou Haidar was one of the four winners of the 2019 Right Livelihood Award, known as Sweden's alternative Nobel Prize.
