IDEMIA, a French multinational firm specializing in security and identity solutions, will help Morocco’s National Security Government Department (DGSN) introduce a secured digital identity online services platform for Moroccans, said the firm in a press release relayed Friday by Financial Post.
IDEMIA has signed a strategic contract with DGSN to supply Morocco’s latest national electronic ID. With the help of the French firm, the new platform will allow Moroccans to «access online services in a secured environment», the same source said.
«The new biometric ID card will accelerate rollout of Morocco’s online services (…) The card will deliver rock-solid online authentication and transaction security for all Moroccans», the firm explained.
