Morocco : France's IDEMIA to supply DGSN’s new electronic ID cards

IDEMIA, a French multinational firm specializing in security and identity solutions, will help Morocco’s National Security Government Department (DGSN) introduce a secured digital identity online services platform for Moroccans, said the firm in a press release relayed Friday by Financial Post.

IDEMIA has signed a strategic contract with DGSN to supply Morocco’s latest national electronic ID. With the help of the French firm, the new platform will allow Moroccans to «access online services in a secured environment», the same source said.

«The new biometric ID card will accelerate rollout of Morocco’s online services (…) The card will deliver rock-solid online authentication and transaction security for all Moroccans», the firm explained.

«The public at large have already taken on board this new way of doing things and Morocco’s government services are following this path (…) We are proud to be able to provide Morocco our expertise and technologies», Philippe Barreau, executive vice president for public security and identity activities at IDEMIA, said
