French newspaper Le Parisian describes it as «one of the best comedies of the year». «Ramy», put online this Thursday, December 12, on the platform Starz play, was produced by Ramy Youssef, a 28-year-old American stand-up comedian.
The character who in his twenties, is a Muslim of Egyptian origin and is in the middle of an existential quest. «Between his desires as a young American and his faith as a practicing Muslim, he struggles to project himself into the future while his entourage expects him to engage in one way or another», wrote Le Parisien.
The personal journey of the protagonist will lead him to Egypt, where his family lives. The series includes ten episodes of 23 to 31 minutes each. The series is also available on Apple TV and Amazon Prime Video.
